Closed Circle

After 1000 km and many adventures, we finally pulled back into the waiting arms of our good friends in Wiesbaden, and declared the trip ended. So many castles and memories as we came back up the Rhine.
Places we had been, sights that were vaguely familiar. I don't know that we repeated any second breakfast stops, though.
We already have 2 bikes boxed, and tomorrow should see everything else done. Having local residents makes all the difference in these situations, as our friends know a taxi guy, and he has a cousin, and so now we have our airport taxi ride dealt with, and I didn't have to misuse any more German to get it done. A real win.
We are happy to be off the road,  but are encouraged  that Ruby asked where we were going next time. I really can't imagine, but bet that in a year or two, we will start the planning again. Right now it feels like time to get back to everything we have ignored at home. We will hang on to the memories though.

  2. I’ve really enjoyed traveling with your family, thanks for the great stories and amazing photos. Your kids are AWESOME! And I wonder if New Zealand would be a good destination for your next bike tour?
I’ll have some novels to recommend when you return, I’ve read some really good ones this summer so far.
