Resting in Rovinj

Well, it appears that we needed a day off. The focus of our day has been rest and reading, occasionally punctuated by short outings. We ate breakfast and lunch at home, and then when we had a quorum of non napping people, we launched an expotition through several alleys down to the wonderful swimming point.
Much leaping and lounging then required a little more napping before we went out for what we hoped would be a nice meal. I counseled against restaurants with picture menus or all fried options, and we landed on a pleasant location that offered vegetarian options and some fish possibilities (when in Rome).  Well, the best we can say is that we weren't as sophisticated as our meal. All the interpretations of the items were just not what we expected. Marinated salmon turned out to be uncooked but almost lightly pickled. This was not what Ruby hoped for. Lyle's fisherman platter of fish ended up with lots of fried sardines and anchovies and then octopus parts and uncleaned shrimp... Liv's eggplant parmesan was similar to expectations, but with copious amounts of olive oil and not much parm. Living and learning on the road. Proud of the kids for eating as much as they did, and we will see how we fare next time!
Onward to the island of Cres tomorrow, and we will see how we do.
